August 2009 changed the height of the top rail on the LR308 upper receiver. To properly match your receiver height, measure the distance from the barrel's centerline to the top of the receiver rail.

Installation Instructions
• Mounts to the factory style barrel nut already in place on most rifles or you may purchase a replacement barrel nut (see Compatible Products for this model)
• Top rails, sold separately, mount only to the 12 o'clock position (see Compatible Products for this model)
• Accessory rails, sold separately, mount to 7 positions at 45-degree intervals to encourage air movement over barrel and gas tube (see Compatible Products for this model)

After a lengthy Internet search this handguard came up and it's PERFECT in every way. It was just the length I was looking for and works with my existing hardware. It feels very good and sturdy in the hand and was extremely easy to install, thank you Apex!

I love the feel of this handguard. Sleek design, firm gripping, plenty of space for accessories although I am only putting on 3 for sling loop, light, and bi-pod. Still lots of room if I change my mind later. Installation done by my local armor.
The weight change was not noticeable from the stock plastic handguard S&W put on my MP10. Completely satisfied!

Apex handguard proved to be as easy & simple to install as advertised. I did not have the proper size wrench for the M&P 10 barrel nut so I cut off the Delta ring, spring & clip spring. I installed the mid-length model and kept the factory gas block & gas tube. Take note to properly align the factory gas block with the receiver top rail when reinstalling. Also, there is a quarter inch gap between the handguard & factory gas block. Handguard has stayed securely in place after 200 rds., is "very grippy" without being painful. Good alternative to changing out barrel nuts for free floating handguard. My first free floating handguard, very pleased with simple install, looks & performance.

product came well packaged, easy install. Great instructions. Super solid and with the full upper rail, lower 4" and 2" on the side it's incredibly functional and just plain looks bad- ass! 308 never looked so good!

Extremely light weight, and very fast and easy to install. I was a little concerned by the 'clamp on' style of mounting, but those concerns were unfounded. The system is extremely solid, and is very easy to install and adjust. The grip texture is more aggressive than I assumed it would be from the pictures, but not unpleasantly so. Tube was well packaged with all screws, and included easy to follow instructions. Over all, the product exceeded my expectations in all areas. Will definitely be looking at the AR15 version of these tubes. Great product!
