Apex Accessory Rail Facts:

Mount Accessory rails to the handguard before installing the handguard to the rifle.

Accessory rails mount to slots on the handguard located on SEVEN 45 degree intervals around the handguard, but DO NOT mount to the top position. The top position is not slotted and is used only for top rails.

Hold the small backing nuts for the accessory rail in place with a Popsicle stick or chopstick.

The underside base of the accessory rail is machined to fit a 2" diameter (round) handguard. The base is concave with a 1.9" radius.

Accessory and top rails are too wide to mount any additional rail directly to the adjacent 45 degree slot. This is designed to keep the handguard diameter small and lightweight allowing placement of rails only where needed.

Accessory rail weights are indicated on each product item page and are not included in the handguard weight posted.

Apex Top Rail Facts:

Only full length top rails or 1.5" top rails may be screwed to the top position of the handguard. Top rails DO NOT fit into the slots around the handguard.

Each differing length of handguard has an optional full length top rail which covers the handguard tube and clamp completely.

Accessory and top rails are too wide to mount any additional rail directly to the adjacent 45-degree slot. This is designed to keep the handguard diameter small and lightweight allowing placement of rails only where needed.

There will be a slight gap of .03" - .07" between the top rail and upper receiver.

Apex Top rails will be flush with AR15 and .308 receivers.

Top rail weights are indicated on each product item page and are not included in the handguard weight posted.

Hole distance between 1st two holes on the top muzzle end of the handguard is .79" (Center to Center)

Apex Barrel Nut Facts:

Most rifles are already equipped with a barrel nut that may be reused to install an Apex Handguard. If you are replacing a handguard that also functions as the barrel nut, you will need to replace the barrel nut with an appropriately sized barrel nut that fits the Apex Handguard. This means removing the barrel and reinstalling it with the appropriate barrel nut.

Barrel nut weights are indicated on each product item page and are not included in the handguard weight posted.

The following barrel nuts are available to purchase:
