I take a KISS approach to all my rifles. My favorite was assembled at a time when the handguard options were skinny or fat plastic, and vented or solid tube (exact same products from like 3 manufacturers) It is still taking every bit of abuse thrown at it. When I decided to build a lightweight DMR/SPR type, I went looking for a simple round tube, but lighter, and hopefully with QD sling attachment points. Just as I had given up hope to find what I wanted, I came across Apex, and immediately ordered one. For me it is the perfect size and shape, has a good grip surface even when wet, ventilates well for cooling and weight reduction while remaining tough and rigid, allows us dinosaurs to cling to our beloved (and durable) barrel mounted iron sights, but can also be had in gas block covering lengths, and allows for accessory attachment without sacrificing basic functionality in the name of accessorizing. I have since bought eight more, and recommended them to others, who have bought six that I'm aware of.

This is the second hand guard that I own. Love the feel and functionality.

Bought this based on looks and it is everything I wanted. QD holes on the hand guard, lightweight and strong. I love the grip pattern. Top rail is really nice. Easy to install over the factory barrel nut. My only con with the product is with the mounting hardware around the factory barrel nut, you cannot open the the riffle up completely (pull the back pin out and pivot on the front pin). It will open about half way before the mount hits the lower. I would recommend this product and buy it again.

Nice tight fit , installation was quick and easy. solid as a rock, feels and looks great, fast shipping, I got my hand guard earlier than expected. I did not have any issues with this product other than the way it was shipped I hated all the packing peanuts.... lol I am very happy.

APEX MODEL 2300 INSTALL DIRECTIONS STRAIGHTFORWARD, THIRTY MINUTES. HAVE FULL LENGTH TOP RAIL FOR FRONT SIGHT AND LASER DESIGNATOR AND A 3 SLOT RAIL MOUNTED FRONT 6 OCLOCK FOR BIPOD. WAS GOING TO MOUNT VERTICAL GRIP, BUT THE HANDGUARD FEELS SO SLIM AND THE GATOR GRIP IS SO COMFORTABLE WHEN SHOOTING I DONT BELIEVE I"LL BE ADDING IT, AT LEAST FOR NOW, IF EVER. FOR LOOKS AND FUNCTIONALITY THIS SIMPLY IS THE BEST FOR AN OSPREY GAS PISTON. I DIDN"T LIKE HAVING TO BUY THE TOP RAIL SEPARATELY. ALSO MAGPUL M-LOK RAILS WORK FOR THIS HANDGUARD.

I just completed my first AR-15 and incorporated the APEX Hand Guard 2300 in my build. The product is slim, light weight and the fit and finish is excellent. I really like the ability to keep accessorizing components to a minimum for my needs. The user instructions for installing the product were excellent. The APEX customer service is no less than outstanding even though I made 2 errors in selecting the best hand guard for my rifle and had to return the products for exchanges. My errors were of no fault of APEX but purely due to my haste in ordering before I really knew EXACTLY which product I needed to fit my rifle's specifications. Thank you APEX

I needed a handguard that could be removed to take off my quick attach suppressor. Several advantages to this GatorGrip. First very well made and solid. Second lots of clearance for suppressor. Third on and off with four nuts. I really like the finish, look and feel of the handguard. I added the top rail and it is just what I was looking for. Specs for top rail to receiver top rail could have been a little tighter, but not a big deal. Would recommend to anyone with Surefire suppressor that will be running under the handguard for a few inches.

I have been researching the internet for several months for the best hand guard for my AR. I do not care for the guards that have rails down all four sides. I do not have that many attachments and did not like the way the bare rails felt when I gripped the hand guard. I also did not like the way the various rail covers felt, Too oversized. When I found the Apex Handguard I was sure it was the guard I wanted. I received the guard today. It took me about 30 minutes to install. I had watched the YouTube installation videos and they were very helpful. The fit was very snug and tight (very good). There were no surprises. I placed the rear brackets on first and then slid the main tube on to make sure it fit. I removed the main guard tube and installed a 2" rail on the bottom before reinstalling the tube. Last, I installed the top rail and then straightened the tube to align with my flat top upper. Everything is Loctited and ready to shoot when my front sight arrives later this week. Great product!
