These thread adapters allow for an incredibly clean and precise installation of muzzle mounted devices on heavy barreled rifles and pistols. The barrel is first internally threaded for the appropriate adapter then the adapter and muzzle device are easily installed. The muzzle device references off the adapter, not the barrel end, so a precise alignment is insured. Inside of adapters is hex shaped to accommodate an Allen Wrench for assembly and disassembly. Gunsmith altering of barrel required (specifications and instructions included). Caps are available to protect threads and alignment surface when adapter is not installed.
