August 2009 changed the height of the top rail on the LR308 upper receiver. To properly match your receiver height, measure the distance from the barrel's centerline to the top of the receiver rail.

Installation Instructions
• Mounts to the factory style barrel nut already in place on most rifles or you may purchase a replacement barrel nut (see Compatible Products for this model)
• Top rails, sold separately, mount only to the 12 o'clock position (see Compatible Products for this model)
• Accessory rails, sold separately, mount to 7 positions at 45-degree intervals to encourage air movement over barrel and gas tube (see Compatible Products for this model)
• M-LOK compatible
• Four built-in quick detach sling swivel mounting holes eliminate the need for a rail-mounted sling swivel
• MIL-SPEC hard anodized aluminum, matte finish

15 inch on DPMS lr308 Oracle

Nice product. Wish it had "ears" to mate with the the upper receiver easily. Once I started to torque it down the hand guard would move a bit. Causing me to re loosen and torque down again and again. Used it once and everything came loose. I retorqed the screws and bolts it is now good. I am happy.

SR-25 Build

The hand guard went perfect with the other parts I bought to build the rifle. The hand guard fit perfectly on the KAC upper and the fit with the Rainer Arms barrel I chose was perfect. High quality - it is what you would expect from APEX.
I also found the sales staff (Lisa) very knowledgeable.

Quality piece for my first build

Since this is my first AR10 (an actual Armalite AR10b) build (first gun build to be 100% correct) I do not have a lot of experience with hand guards though I spent considerable time I looking at many different ones from many different manufacturers; quad rails, round tubes, triangle tubes, etc. I found the Apex hand guard to be the cleanest looking for what I want my rifle to look like, at the price point i had in mind. The build of the unit is pretty solid and installation was straight forward and simple. The only adjustment I had to make was when I mounted the 4" accessory rail (for a Bi-pod mount) on the front bottom side of the tube, the bolts that hold it on interfered with the Syrac Ordnance Adjustable Gas block. I resolved the issue by positioning the rail about 1.5" further toward the upper receiver. This allowed the bolt to clear the underside of the gas block. Apex could also resolve this with the use of slight short bolts. Other than that, there were no issues and once complete, the unit feels solid and provides a fantastic grip with out being overly bulky or having sharp edges like a quad rail would. I am giving it 4 of 5 stars as I believe a protect has to be truly exceptional to be a 5 stars. This is close but needs bit more to put it over the top. Maybe Apex could start to include the top rail and an accessory rail in the package?

just arrived, will be installing this weekend, out of the box it looks great and i expect no problems with this handguard
quality is excellent , finish is absolutely perfect, quality is second to none
i just wish i had went ahead and ordered the top rail, oh well, i can always get one later
